HOPE ACTIVITIES

We have a lot of cool things that go on at HOPE.  We have an awesome martial arts teacher that comes in on Monday to teach self defense.  Tuesday’s bring our friends Pam and D (from The College of Adaptive Arts) to do fun expressive activities.  Wednesday’s we have our girl Chloie come in ready to make the kids sweat with an exercise activity and we usually squeeze in an art project of some sort as well.  For thursday we just added a great hip hop class taught by a passionate teacher named Isabella.  Everyday something different, but always fun, check it out !!

Masks:  mystery, sparkles, colors…need I say more.

The kids create masks

This is our first piece, a collaborative piece, that involved the kids free form of expression and my artistic design skills.  First, they tore up  paper, then they painted the torn paper shades of blue and white.  I then took these pieces of paper and formed what you see as the sky.  Same idea with the flower pedals.  Lastly I added the bee and the hand.

Our second art project was a simple idea with big geometric results.  Straight black lines with a splash of color.  Title: My Conversation with the Circle.

This Tuesday (our art day) we made animals out of rocks.
